Condolences to the Tatnell Family. / Scott McIntosh (Family Friend )
RIP GEORGE...
"Our thoughts are with the Tatnell Family"
You were a legend, and a great friend both on and off the track to us. You help and guidance at both Rowley Park and then the early years of Speedway park when we raced speedcars together - will live in our minds forever!! I can remember "rubbing" many a wheel with you - your red Winfield 25's car and my orange Simsmetal Offy #99 at Rowley Park.
You always had time for a chat - it was great to catch up with you and Joe on December 26th at Speedway City when you were presented with your WSS Hall of Fame Induction. We truly treasured our time with you that day!!
Will be sadly missed by Trevor "Macka" (as you always called me) and Iris McIntosh.
RIP "UNCLE" GEORGE...
George, you were like an uncle to me. You always had time for me when I was younger, and during the years when I was growing up around Speedway!
My fondest racing memory of you was seeing you and my dad race in the final Speedcar Feature at Rowley Park in April 1979, when I was only 5-years-old. You won that race (closely followed by dad!). Also, your Australian Sprintcar Championship victory at Speedway Park in 1988 (Brooke's debut year!!) was truly memorable!!
I will never forget December 26th at Speedway City when you were inducted into the WSS Hall of Fame - 'Uncle' Joe tapped me on the shoulder, then I turned around and said "Hi Scott - little Macka", then followed by "You're still wearing those Chequered Pants". I can't put into words what you have done for me over the past 33 years - but I can truly say - YOU ARE A LEGEND!!
"Everytime I wave my Chequered Flags - I'll be thinking of you!!"
Will be sadly missed by Scott McIntosh.
